Job Summary
Collect and convey patient health information to the RN and physician, developing and modifying care plans while explaining procedures to gain cooperation. Perform specialized care including initiating lifesaving measures such as airway management, ventilation, hemorrhage control, and extrication from vehicles. Assist with patient flow, wound care, phlebotomy, EKGs, IV catheter management, and basic laboratory procedures. Administer limited medications per protocol upon completing the required pharmacology exam. Report defective equipment, clean rooms, and transport supplies as needed. Schedule is part-time midshift; requires Indiana EMT-P certification, ACLS, PALS, and Basic Life Safety training.
Required Qualifications
- State certified EMT-P course completion
- EMT-P Certification, State of Indiana
- Competencies for routine clinical tests and procedures
- ACLS
- PALS
- Basic Life Safety (American Heart Association)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (American Heart Association)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (American Heart Association) or ENPC
Desired Qualifications
- One (1) year of experience working as a paramedic
