Job Summary
Deliver prehospital 911 emergency care and inter-facility transportation for injured or ill patients within ABC EMS Protocols. Document and maintain accurate medical records using ImageTrend Elite charting software and operate emergency vehicles safely per EVOC standards. Work two 10-hour shifts in days or swings while maintaining full-time enrollment at UNM EMSA toward a Bachelor's degree in EMS. This Paramedic Learner role offers educational assistance, tuition reimbursement, and a family atmosphere at Albuquerque Ambulance Services, where you can advance through three experience-based levels without competing for promotions.
Required Qualifications
- Must maintain full time enrollment (at least 12 credit hours) at the UNM EMSA towards completing a Bachelors of Science in EMS
- This position is limited to 11 months at which time the employee must vacate the position and apply for an open requisition
- High School Diploma/GED equivalent required
- Current New Mexico driver's license is required without relevant restrictions within 30 days of hire
- Must be at least 18 years of age with a driving record insurable per Presbyterian policy
- New Mexico Paramedic license required
- Must have current ACLS and BLS through AHA, ASHI, or Red Cross
- Must be up to date with FEMA 100, 200, 700 courses
- Must pass physical abilities assessment
- Must obtain medical examiner certification/DOT certification as part of on-boarding
