Job Summary
Assess call situations to determine the best course of action while working with progressive Paramedic protocols. Utilize skills on medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen, suction devices, and intravenous fluids to provide advanced medical care. Communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and assurance that care is being given. Act as Paramedic team leader and take responsibility for the scene and unit management as needed. Drive the ambulance on 911 responses. Work collaboratively with all allied health and public safety personnel. Participate in community programs to maintain AMR image and establish strong community relations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- State Paramedic License
- State Driver's License
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, NREMT-Paramedic
- Driving record compliant with company policy
- Must be able to successfully pass Physical Agility Test
- Good physical stamina
- Endurance
- Body condition that would not be adversely affected by frequently having to walk, stand, lift, carry, and balance at times
- Must be able to lift, drag, hoist, and carry different types of equipment and other objects
- Some work experience, preferably healthcare
