Job Summary
Paramedic in the City of Schertz EMS department on Full-Time, 12-hour shifts (1900-0700). Performs advanced life support and directs emergency medical care, operates emergency vehicles to transport patients, and communicates with coworkers, hospitals, police and fire personnel. Maintains patient care documentation, inspects and maintains medical supplies and equipment, and participates in community outreach. Responsible for mandatory training to maintain skills, and may precept students from EMT and Paramedic programs. Non-supervisory role with duties directed by EMS leadership; includes attending meetings and complying with all applicable protocols and regulations.
Required Qualifications
- A High School Degree or GED equivalent is required
- Current certification as a State of Texas Paramedic is required, Licensure is preferred
- ACLS, PHTLS/ITLS, PALS/PEPP, and CPR certifications are preferred
- A valid Texas Class “C” Driver’s License is required
- One or more years in a 911 EMS system is preferred
