Job Summary
Determine donor eligibility by conducting medical history interviews, physical examinations, and reviewing laboratory test results including Serological Protein Electrophoresis. Manage donor adverse events and evaluate reactions per SOPs, coordinating transport to emergency care facilities when necessary. Support center operations by administering Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccinations, managing employee incidents, and assisting as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized. Review informed consent processes and confidential self-exclusion protocols while maintaining strict adherence to FDA training and industry regulations. Work under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician to ensure donor safety and compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
- Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
