Job Summary
Determine donor eligibility by conducting medical history interviews, physical examinations, and reviewing laboratory test results including Serological Protein Electrophoresis. Manage donor adverse events and evaluate reactions per SOPs, providing donor notification for unsuitable findings or referring to the Center Physician for standing orders and transport to emergency care. Support plasma center operations through environmental, health, and safety guidance while assisting with employee vaccination programs and pandemic threat investigations. Maintain informed consent protocols and confidential self-exclusion records.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
- Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
