Job Summary

Determine donor eligibility through medical history interviews, physical examinations, and blood testing while managing informed consent and confidential self-exclusion. Evaluate donor reactions and adverse events, following SOPs for medical emergencies and coordinating transport to emergency care facilities. Review laboratory test results, including Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE), and notify donors of unsuitable findings or refer to the Center Physician for guidance on medical or technical issues. Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs, manage employee incidents, and act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS. Work as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician to ensure high-quality plasma collection for life-changing medicines.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
  • Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
  • Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
  • Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
  • Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
  • Familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment
