Job Summary
Perform patient assessments, vital signs, EKGs, IV insertions, and phlebotomy while assisting with triage, stabilization, and treatment of patients in emergent and non-emergent situations. Support physicians and nurses during procedures including CPR, intubation, trauma, and code response, and administer medications as directed within the scope of certification. Transport patients within the facility for admissions, discharges, and transfers while ensuring emergency equipment remains stocked and clean. Document interventions accurately in the electronic medical record and participate in decontamination, disaster drills, and emergency preparedness plans. Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and provide compassionate communication with patients and families. Work full-time shifts from 11a-11p or 1p-1a.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Current and unrestricted Paramedic license in the state of Kentucky
- BLS
- ACLS
- PALS
- Knowledge of emergency care principles
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of patient monitoring equipment
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Critical thinking skills
- Ability to work effectively in a high-stress, fast-paced environment
- Ability to perform patient assessments
