Job Summary
Provide full range EMT services within the MTF and supported geographical area, rapidly stabilizing patients according to Advance Life Support (ALS) protocol and EMS written protocols. Monitor and operate ambulance radio equipment as required, while administering needles, IVs, oxygen, or dressings during transport. Control and properly dispose of medical waste, conduct routine restocking, cleaning, and disinfection of vehicles and equipment, and document all treatment provided. Lift, place, and deliver patients to receiving destinations, including support for detonation operations involving live munitions on the Nevada Test and Training Range. Perform duties for Northern Range Operations (TTR-CA) with 10 or 12-hour shifts seven days a week. Maintain proficiency in ambulance radio equipment and ensure ambulances are safe, sanitary, and properly functioning.
Required Qualifications
- Certificate. Graduate from an accredited NREMT program
- Possess and maintain certification as an NREMT-P or National Registered Paramedic (NRP) from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT)
- Must possess a current ambulance driver's license
- BLS/ALS/PALS required
- One year of experience as an EMT, NREMT, NRAEMT or NRP after graduation
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must be able eligible to obtain a SECRET security clearance
