Job Summary
Paramedic role within an interdisciplinary team delivering high-quality patient care in a hospital setting, including supervising and supporting care delivery under licensed professional supervision. Responsibilities include proactive safety and quality patient care, competent assessment across age groups (neonate to adult), IV placement, point-of-care testing (I-Stat/Novastat), and adherence to medication administration rights. Must demonstrate trauma response, time management, shift participation, and contribute to orientation and shared governance efforts. Compliance with state CE requirements, licensure, and department protocols is required, with ongoing education and competency development to support pediatric and adult care pathways. The position emphasizes patient safety, evidence-based practice, and collaboration to meet departmental and organizational goals.
Required Qualifications
- Georgia Paramedic license (EMT-P)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association within 30 days of employment or at time of offer if working in the Emergency Department
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of employment
- Ability to operate Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta vehicles as described in Policy 5-12 Drivers’ Policy for Children’s Owned Vehicles (transport paramedics)
