Job Summary
Deliver high-quality advanced life support care during emergent and non-emergent interfacility transports in compliance with Butler Medical Transport, State, and DOH protocols. Provide leadership and mentorship to EMT crew members while ensuring vehicle and equipment readiness. Communicate effectively with patients, dispatch, family members, and facility staff, and complete accurate patient care reports prior to shift completion. Maintain current certifications, including NR Paramedic and ACLS, through timely completion of refresher courses and CMEs. Represent BMT/BCA at community events as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation From High School or equivalent
- Must be at least 19 years old or older at the time of hire for insurance purposes
- Successful completion of NR Paramedic certification
- Current NR Paramedic and State Paramedic (or ability to obtain with in 10 days of hire)
- Current AHA BLS CPR, ACLS, PALS or ability to obtain within 10 days of hire
- Ability to provide quality patient care within scope of practice
- Knowledge of all state protocols for a Paramedic
- Valid Photo ID
- Ability to pass a lift test of 150 – 200 pounds
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check
- Ability to speak and write English
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of pumps, vents, and monitors utilized in EMS care
- Excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology and writing patient care reports
- Problem solving
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Previous EMS experience
