Job Summary
The Certified Critical Care Paramedic performs advanced emergency medical care and transportation for critically ill or injured patients. Responsibilities include responding to calls, assessing patients, providing advanced life support (ALS) including airway management, IV therapy, defibrillation, and drug administration; coordinating with dispatch and other responders; transporting patients to facilities with continuous monitoring; maintaining detailed patient care reports; ensuring ambulance and equipment readiness; educating patients and families; and adhering to legal, ethical, and safety protocols. The role requires operating in varied, potentially hazardous environments, lifting/moving patients (up to 250 lbs with partner), and maintaining composure under pressure. Ongoing education to stay current with medical protocols is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Current NYS Licensed Paramedic
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS - if not AHA, must obtain AHA BLS within 3 months of hire
- CCEMT-P, or CCT-P or FP-C
- Valid Driver’s license
