Job Summary
Deliver quality patient care in accordance with clinical policies, statewide protocol, and standards of care by attending to patients in trauma, cardiac, or respiratory emergencies. Operate the ambulance safely while completing daily equipment checklists, inspections, and cleaning to ensure compliance with stock and function requirements. Submit all documentation and PCR paperwork daily, maintain effective communication with internal and external healthcare providers, and perform housekeeping duties at assigned bases. Requires current Massachusetts Paramedic Certification, National Registry certification, and 1-3 years of EMT experience. Full-time role with mandatory drug screening, background checks, and annual CORI verification.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Current valid driver's license
- Current Massachusetts Paramedic Certification
- National Registry Paramedic Certification
- Current CPR and ACLS Certification
- Minimum of 1-3 years of prior working EMT B or A experience
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to meet the essential duties and physical, mental and sensory requirements of the position at all times
- Comply with UDS drug screening at any and all times
- Satisfactory background check and MA CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information), verification required annually
- Verification of an acceptable motor vehicle driving record, verification required annually
- Ability to lift and maneuver 125+ pounds with assistance and without difficulty
- Ability to ascend/descend stairs repeatedly and the ability to lift and carry 125+ pounds up and down stairs
- Ability to frequently use fingers, hands and arms to reach, handle and/or operate equipment, objects, tools or controls
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Ability to walk without difficulty and without affecting the immediate performance of job-related duties
- Ability to bend, stoop and crawl as necessary
- Ability to occasionally work in low light and confined spaces
- Ability to work within a mobile environment
- Ability to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid and dry conditions
- Ability to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher
- Experience with computer systems, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications
