Job Summary
Paramedic position in Field Operations at American Ambulance. You’ll deliver emergency medical services, provide ALS and BLS care, maintain licensure and certifications, complete patient care reports (PCRs/ePCRs), and support EMT/paramedic staff in dynamic pre-hospital settings. Responsibilities include maximizing unit productivity, adhering to protocols, training and supervising EMTs/paramedics, traveling to assigned posts in Kings, Madera, and Fresno Counties, and working full-time night and weekend shifts. Requires CA paramedic licensure, EMT-Paramedic certification, BLS/ACLS/PALS competence (provider or instructor), PHTLS or equivalent, valid CA driver license, and ability to meet safety and equipment standards. This role emphasizes professional appearance, integrity, patient care excellence, and adherence to safety, infection control, and company policies. Position is full-time with 12- or 24-hour shifts and travel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current California Licensed EMT-Paramedic
- Current Fresno County Accredited EMT-Paramedic
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification - Provider or Instructor
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification - Provider or Instructor
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification - Provider or Instructor (not required for hire, must obtain within first year of employment)
- PHTLS Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support Certification or equivalent – Provider or Instructor (not required for hire, must obtain within first year, does not have to remain current)
- Meets Operations Fit for Duty Standards
- Current California Driver License
- Current California Ambulance Driver Certificate (preferred)
- Current DOT Medical Examiner’s Card (preferred)
- Meets insurability requirements for vehicle operation (preferred)
- Current Tuberculosis test (not required for hire)
