Job Summary
Paramedics provide advanced medical care to patients in a pre-hospital setting, perform trauma and medical interventions, administer emergency care during transport, determine destination facilities, maintain documentation, and collaborate with nursing and physician teams. The role includes hospital- and ambulance-based duties, managing patient condition en route, supervising additional EMS responders when needed, and maintaining ongoing certification/licensure and knowledge through training. Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, national registry Paramedic status, and state licensure as dictated by location; clinical duties encompass EKGs, IV therapy, respiratory management, wound care, and patient assessment in varied shifts (days, nights, weekends, holidays).
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associates Degree in Paramedic Technology or Paramedicine preferred
- National registry status at a Paramedic level
- State licensure as required by state; Minnesota Advanced RN-EMT accepted
- Current BLS, PHTLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP preferred; ITLS may be required depending on location
- Valid Driver's License with good driving record
