Paralegal Specialist OPS assists lawyers in the Children’s Legal Services program by preparing legal documents, coordinating service of process, maintaining case files and court calendars, filing pleadings and other legal documents with the clerk of court, preparing discovery, performing legal research under supervision, coordinating inter-agency and intra-agency legal functions, performing notary functions, attending hearings to assist counsel, assisting witnesses with court proceedings, and entering data timely and accurately into statewide databases. The role requires completing a qualifying training program or possessing a degree/certificate in legal disciplines, or two years of paralegal-related experience. The position is hourly at $17.79 with a compensation rate of $37,003 annually, located in Polk County, FL, and involves in-person duties with background screening requirements including state and federal checks. Fluency in Spanish/Creole/French or other languages may be considered in the selection process. Pre-interview assessments or work samples may be required.
