Job Summary
Review case files for completeness and accuracy, initiating action to seek missing information and identifying potential complications such as family discrepancies or will disputes. Research related cases to obtain verified family histories and confirm heir information. Update and maintain procedural status in the docketing system, schedule hearings, and prepare notices for interested parties. Assist the Supervisory Judge by recording proceedings, taking attendance, and handling exhibits during hearings. Draft probate decisions or orders and review drafts for errors. Provide guidance to legal assistants and perform administrative duties including scanning, mailings, timekeeping, and bill-paying.
Required Qualifications
- AA Degree in Paralegal Studies or Paralegal Certificate
- minimum additional experience of 5 year(s) in Paralegal work
- Experience required with Windows
- Experience required with MS Word
- Experience required with MS Excel
- Experience required with MS Teams
- Experience required with MS Outlook
- Applicant legally eligible to work in the United States
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in probate law
