Job Summary
Paralegal at Scottish Rite for Children supporting the legal team in Dallas/Frisco. Core duties include drafting, reviewing, and analyzing legal documents; performing legal research; managing subpoenas and business record requests; collecting and validating data; editing material for accuracy and presentation; maintaining strict confidentiality of patient and institutional information; and facilitating communication with internal clients and third parties. Requires a Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Paralegal Studies (Bachelor’s preferred), professional certification (NALA or AACP preferred), and about 5 years of experience in legal or healthcare settings. Strong writing, research, and MS Office skills, plus experience with legal databases and the ability to read and interpret statutes, laws, and regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or associate degree in Paralegal Studies is required (bachelor’s degree preferred)
- Industry-recognized certification from NALA or AACP preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience, preferably within a legal or health care setting
- Organized, detail oriented, and able to multi-task
- Excellent communication and organization abilities
- Strong research and report-generating skills
- Experience in using legal database software
- Ability to read and comprehend legal documents, statutes, laws, rules, and regulations
- Excellent writing skills and oral communication capabilities, and presentation skills
- Ability to establish and maintain good communications, including presenting information and responding to questions with internal clients and third parties
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and otherwise computer literate
- Strong interpersonal skills for working in a team-centric environment
