Job Summary
Coordinate legal services and manage delinquent accounts by pursuing tenants through the Landlord and Tenant Board. Prepare L1 applications, print documents, and send them to the Tribunal for processing while coordinating hearing schedules. Monitor mediated agreements and prepare L4 applications upon tenant default, then draft termination notices (N5s, N6s, N7s, N8s) and follow up post-eviction. Attend Tribunal hearings, respond to tenant inquiries, and prepare monthly litigation reports. Maintain filing systems, screen incoming mail, and schedule hearings. Requires extensive knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act, a provincial paralegal license, bilingual communication skills, and experience in a high-volume environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in similar role in property management
- Extensive knowledge of Residential Tenancies Act
- Licensed as Paralegal designated by the applicable provincial regulatory body
- Valid driver's licence
- Clean driver abstract
- Reliable, insured means of personal transportation to and between work locations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both French and English
- Knowledge of standard Accounts Receivable
- Experience in a high volume fast paced environment
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in Tribunal Hearings
