Job Summary
Paralegal role in MWLS’s Pro Bono Services program, supporting the Director of Pro Bono Services across operations including client intakes, case management, and coordination of weekly in-person Lawyer for the Day programs at courthouses. Responsibilities include conducting client intake, assisting volunteer attorneys with case preparation and logistics, organizing and drafting legal documents for court filings, developing program materials, coordinating training events for volunteer attorneys, fostering relationships with community partners, and supporting recruitment/retention of volunteer attorneys. Preferred qualifications include a relevant degree or paralegal certificate, 0–3 years of paralegal experience in a legal aid setting, and Spanish or Portuguese language skills. Strong written and oral communication, organization, and ability to travel within the service area are valued. The role is in-person with hybrid work requirements and based in Framingham, MA; benefits include a comprehensive package and competitive salary details per union scale.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree or Paralegal Certificate is preferred.
- 0- 3 years of prior experience providing paralegal support in a legal aid office preferred.
- Spoken fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is strongly preferred. Language competencies will be tested during the interview process.

- Demonstrated commitment and/or experience working with individuals who may have experienced poverty, trauma or discrimination, or possess lived experience in these areas.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally with clients, volunteer attorneys, community partners and other stakeholders.

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and deadlines; ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to travel throughout the MWLS service area and to occasional statewide events.
- Candidates may be required to provide a writing sample as part of this hiring process.
