Job Summary
The Paralegal at PBF Energy will assist the Managing Counsel with various legal responsibilities including legal research, writing, and providing litigation assistance by drafting documents, managing discovery and evidence, and maintaining technical proficiency with eDiscovery software. The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage large volumes of electronically stored information (ESI) and perform data analytics relevant to eDiscovery. Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree and have at least 3 years of relevant legal experience, ideally in a law firm or regulatory environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience
- Must maintain the highest degree of ethics and preserve absolute confidentiality
- Must be a team player with a positive attitude and desire to learn and expand skill set
- Excellent organization and prioritization skills and strong attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills
- Highly motivated and willing to work unscheduled hours, as needed
- Demonstrate initiative (must be self-starter)
- Computer Skills Required: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, generative AI tools, Legal Tracker (preferred but not required), Exterro Legal Hold (preferred), Ariba (or similar contract management software preferred)
Desired Qualifications
- 3+ yrs. experience working at a law firm or in-house
- Health, Safety, and Environmental and/or litigation experience preferred
- Experience with eDiscovery software (e.g., Relativity or similar software preferred)
- Basic knowledge to solve technical issues
- Notary Public is required or willing to obtain within 3 months of hire
