Job Summary

Draft, review, and manage contracts, subcontracts, and teaming agreements across MARAD and MSC vessel programs. Support labor relations matters involving multiple maritime unions, ERISA compliance, and FLSA/ADA research. Coordinate with outside counsel on litigation, track court deadlines, and manage workers' compensation matters. Maintain corporate records, prepare position statements and memos for leadership, and conduct legal research using Westlaw or LexisNexis. Work independently with minimal supervision to handle competing priorities in a lean government contracting environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree, or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program
  • Minimum 3 years of paralegal experience, preferably in government contracting, maritime, labor & employment, or litigation
  • Working knowledge of federal contracting regulations (FAR/DFARS) and/or labor law compliance frameworks
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to draft clear, professional legal documents independently
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, work with minimal supervision, and maintain strict confidentiality

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting in-house legal departments or operating as a sole legal resource in a government contracting or maritime environment
  • Familiarity with SCA/Davis-Bacon wage and hour compliance
  • Experience with multiemployer benefit plans and ERISA/Taft-Hartley frameworks
  • Exposure to California and/or Texas employment law
  • Experience with contract lifecycle management systems or legal document management platforms
