Job Summary
Coordinate legal and administrative matters with internal stakeholders, managing contract management cycles, document collections, and responses to subpoenas and discovery requests. Investigate facts, collect information, and summarize material pertaining to legal matters while maintaining legal files and matter management tools. Assist with drafting correspondence, preparing standard reports, and updating library templates. Perform general office tasks and serve as a liaison to business partners. Requires a valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 10 percent locally. This role supports Park Lawn's legal department and in-house attorneys across corporate compliance, litigation, and risk management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in paralegal studies or combination of equivalent education and experience
- Minimum of three years of in-house experience in a similar role for a national or international company or with a law firm
- Valid state issued driver's license in good standing and acceptable driving record
- Able to read, write and speak English fluently
- Must exercise sound judgment, high-level of integrity and dependability
- Proactive, self-starter who is able to plan, organize and complete work with minimal supervision
- Ability to meet daily deadlines and perform tasks in a timely manner
- Superior organizational skills, detail oriented and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to learn and become a subject matter expert in enterprise software
- Tactful and professional behavior when dealing with difficult issues or individuals
- Must be willing to consult with or seek attorney review when necessary
- Overtime is sometimes necessary or required
- This position may require up to 10 percent out of area and overnight travel
- Travel is primarily local occurring during the business day only
- Employees are regularly required to climb, sit, stand, bend, kneel, and frequently lift to 25 pounds
- This position may also require reaching, pushing, and pulling
- Employees may be exposed to chemicals and/or blood borne pathogens
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of in-house experience in a similar role for a national or international company or with a law firm is preferred
- Paralegal Certificate preferred
- Preferred registered notary in the State of Texas
- Bilingual is a plus
