Job Summary
Paralegal (Motor/Personal Injury) at a boutique firm handling motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, medical malpractice, and some mass tort cases. Responsible for supporting multiple personal injury cases by organizing documents, preparing legal forms, coordinating with providers, and tracking deadlines to ensure cases are accurate, complete, and on schedule. Duties include assisting with discovery tasks (interrogatories, document requests, requests for admissions), gathering medical records and other documents, drafting legal pleadings and complaints under supervision, coordinating with service providers and vendors, using templates and AI tools, and reporting to the lawyer/owner with day-to-day work via the main paralegal. Requires practical experience under an attorney, ability to handle discovery, drafting pleadings, CRM and legal software proficiency, and strong collaboration and independent back-office capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Must have practical experience working under an attorney
- No legal degree required / Law degree not necessary
- Experience gathering legal documents
- Experience in Motor Vehicle / Personal Injury law highly preferred but not required
- Ability to handle discovery (written discovery, interrogatories, document requests)
- Capable of drafting pleadings and complaints
- Proficient in coordinating with vendors and tracking tasks
- Technologically proficient, CRM and legal software experience
- Comfortable delegating and receiving tasks through a CRM
- Comfortable using AI tools for legal work (demand letters and discovery drafting)
- Strong team collaboration and ability to work with others
- Able to work independently on back-office tasks
- Eager to learn and open to feedback
- Available for quick turnaround on assignments
- Responsive, including occasional urgent matters outside regular hours
