Job Summary
Conduct legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, or AI platforms to synthesize case law and evidence for case strategy. Draft, proofread, and format pleadings, motions, and discovery documents while managing preservation notices and native ESI collections. Coordinate exhibits for depositions and trials, handle e-filings across federal, state, and tribal courts, and maintain accurate matter profiles and conflict checks. Utilize eDiscovery tools like Relativity or Lexbe to process document productions and flag privileged material under attorney supervision. Manage complex calendars for client consultations and internal meetings across multiple time zones. Full-time 40-hour week in Downtown San Francisco with remote flexibility; salary $95,000 to $120,000.
Required Qualifications
- A paralegal certificate or 5+ years of paralegal experience in a private law firm with an emphasis on litigation
- Advanced knowledge of California and Federal district courts and filing procedures
- Experience with or a demonstrated willingness to learn U.S. Appellate Courts, Tribal Courts, and Administrative tribunals and related procedure
- Advanced knowledge of legal software and E-discovery platforms such as PACER, CM/ECF/E-Filing, Sharefile, TrueFiling, Law ToolBox, RelativityOne, Nextpoint, Lexbe, or their equivalent
- AI experience
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, and PowerPoint)
- High level of accuracy in document drafting, formatting, and proofreading, including citation verification and source pulling
- Critical thinking skills, superior communication and organization skills, the ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines simultaneously, decisive judgment, high attention to detail, and the ability to work under minimal supervision
- Ability to work independently with a high degree of professionalism and discretion
- Proactive, team-first attitude and a genuine interest in the work we perform and client service
- A deep understanding of attorney-client privilege and the necessity of keeping all firm matters strictly confidential
- Located in Downtown San Francisco
- Regular business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
