Job Summary
Support defense litigation team through trial from inception to closing; manage client cases, perform document review and summarization, prepare trial binders and exhibits, manage court calendar and provide status updates, and handle time-entry billing. Requires 3+ years in defense litigation support, a Bachelor’s degree and/or ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate, NY court-system knowledge, strong attention to detail, and ability to work full-time in the Garden City, NY office.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in defense litigation support
- Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA approved organization
- Experience and knowledge of the NY court system and rules
- Excellent attention to detail and organization skills
- Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize workload
- Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams of attorneys, legal staff, court staff, clients, expert witnesses, etc.
- Demonstrated interest in defense litigation
- Ability to perform legal research, experience with Lexis a plus
- Familiarity with reviewing and obtaining medical records
- Experience with time entry billing in a law firm setting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work 5 days/week from Garden City office
