Job Summary
Coordinate witness management for court appearances, pre-trial conferences, and grand jury proceedings by arranging travel, processing reimbursements, and ensuring compliance with Department of Justice guidelines. Manage fact witness logistics including scheduling, document preparation, and handling uncooperative witnesses while maintaining active calendars and filing records. Communicate directly with witnesses, attorneys, and court agencies to resolve special circumstances and ensure timely participation. Perform general administrative duties related to witness files and legal documentation. This full-time role offers 40 hours weekly with telework availability and is located in Grand Rapids, MI.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of legal procedures and terminology
- Knowledge of word processing software (e.g., Microsoft Word, etc.)
- Strong communication, decision-making, and multitasking skills
- Excellent judgement skills in high-pressure courtroom situations
- Exp. working within a legal setting
- Exp. in witness management
- Exp. providing trial support
- Exp. in administrative work
- Travel may be required
- Occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 10 lbs
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include the use of computer monitor screens up to 100% of the time
- Regularly required to sit for extended periods up to 100% of the time
- Frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, cell phone, etc.
