Job Summary
Paralegal role supporting Assistant District Attorneys in the Pathways to Public Safety Division, focusing on Judicial Diversion. Responsibilities include communicating with law enforcement to obtain case facts, drafting official documents (Orders to Produce, subpoenas, transcript requests), creating files for diversion program candidates, preparing court files, attending court to document notes, coordinating with court personnel, maintaining spreadsheets, taking defendant interview notes, and performing administrative tasks. Requires a Bachelor’s degree with related paralegal/criminal justice experience (levels 1–3) and strong organizational, writing, and IT skills. Work hours are Monday–Friday, 9 am–5 pm; location is New York City, NY (US); in-person role.
Required Qualifications
- Level 1 – Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college
- Level 2 – Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and one (1) year of experience either as a paralegal in the criminal justice field or equivalent
- Level 3 – Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and two (2) years of experience either as a paralegal in the criminal justice field or equivalent
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and writing skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to learn quickly and use various computer systems to update and edit existing databases
- Ability to work independently with frequent interruptions, manage deadlines, and adapt to changes in workflow
- Authorization to work in the United States
