Job Summary

Support attorneys in litigation involving housing stability matters, including eviction prevention, habitability, and subsidized housing. Prepare pleadings, correspondence, legal forms, and other case documents while conducting client intake and interviews to maintain accurate case files. Communicate with clients regarding case status, appointments, and requested documentation, and assist with case preparation, hearings, and court proceedings. Coordinate referrals to community agencies, plan statewide legal clinics, and collaborate with staff across multiple offices. Maintain confidentiality and comply with all ethical and legal requirements. This role requires travel throughout New Mexico and proficiency with legal case management software.

Required Qualifications

  • Must meet the New Mexico Supreme Court qualifications for paralegals (Rule 20-115), which may be satisfied through an approved paralegal program, qualifying education, national certification, law school graduation, or qualifying substantive law-related experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of legal procedures and legal document preparation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with staff across multiple offices
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout New Mexico

Desired Qualifications

  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
