Paralegal (Family Law)

Job Summary
Liaise with clients to take initial instructions, prepare legal documents and correspondence, and draft court forms for divorce, financial remedies, and children law matters. Manage case files from opening to closure, conduct legal research, and collate evidence while maintaining accurate records in the case management system. Coordinate with counsel and experts, assist in preparing trial documentation, and ensure compliance with quality and risk management procedures. Monitor financial aspects of files, including billing and costs recording. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of family law changes and support colleagues in business development.
Required Qualifications
- Law degree or equivalent qualification/experience in a legal environment
- Strong understanding of family law processes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage competing priorities
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and confident using case management systems
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience as a paralegal within family law
- Familiarity with legal aid processes
- Experience preparing court bundles and managing hearings
