Job Summary

Paralegal, Employment Law supports Mars Veterinary Health's North American legal function, collaborating with employment counsel to handle a broad range of workplace matters including associate relations, policy implementation, compliance programs, internal investigations, and litigation support. Responsibilities include managing employment-related claims (EEOC/charges, demand letters, litigation coordination with outside counsel), handling professional licensing and liability matters, maintaining the employment policy library, conducting legal research on employment laws in North America, supporting intake/triage of legal requests, preparing training materials and communications on employment law and compliance, tracking metrics (litigation, compliance calendar, investigation logs), and contributing to knowledge management and process improvements within the Legal COE. Your experience should include a Bachelor's degree or Paralegal certificate (preferred), 5+ years of paralegal experience with 2–3 years focused on employment law, familiarity with U.S. federal/state and Canadian employment law, ability to handle confidential information, strong organizational and communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal operations tools. Salary ranges from $36.81 to $60.13 per hour, with compensation determined by education, experience, and credentials.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal certificate is preferred
  • 5+ years of paralegal experience
  • experience with U.S. federal and state employment laws; working knowledge of Canadian employment law is a strong plus
  • Excellent organizational skills; strong written and verbal communication
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with legal operations tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Workday, contract/litigation management systems)
