Job Summary
Join Degan, Blanchard & Nash as a Paralegal supporting attorneys in insurance-defense and civil-litigation matters. Responsibilities include preparing and organizing legal documents (pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and correspondence), conducting legal research, managing case files, drafting and proofreading documents, preparing for depositions/hearings/trials and client meetings, coordinating with clients and witnesses, managing attorney calendars, filing documents with the court, and assisting with trial exhibits. Requires 3+ years paralegal experience, a paralegal certificate, proficiency with Westlaw/LexisNexis, strong organization, and excellent communication; capable of working both independently and as part of a team. Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Paralegal, preferably in insurance defense or civil litigation
- Paralegal certificate from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience
- Proficiency in Westlaw or LexisNexis
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and document management software
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work product
