Paralegal - Corporate Defense

Job Summary
Draft legal documents including complaints, pleadings, motions, and subpoenas while ensuring filings meet court rules and deadlines. Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, opposing counsel, and attorneys. Manage case files by organizing exhibits, tracking discovery documents, and preparing materials for trial. Assist during depositions, hearings, and trials by preparing witnesses, organizing exhibits, and supporting cross-examination. Conduct legal research on case law, statutes, and regulations to analyze implications. Summarize depositions, documents, and testimony for attorneys. Requires three years of insurance defense experience, proficiency in Westlaw, Harvey AI, and iManage, and a hybrid schedule of three days in the office.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years previous experience working as a Paralegal on insurance defense cases (transportation, dram shop, premises liability, etc.) from beginning to end
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and regulations
- Strong writing and research skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in using legal research tools, such as LexisNexis and Westlaw
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and other relevant software
- Have a masterful understanding of the litigation flow, as well as demonstrate the appropriate urgency and initiative in performing tasks that advance the cases toward resolution
