Paralegal Assistant

Job Summary
Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, and correspondence, using word processing and legal software. Format, proofread, and edit documents for accuracy and compliance with court rules. Assist with case file organization, indexing, and retrieval, while conducting legal research using online databases to gather statutes and precedents. Summarize and analyze legal authorities to support case evaluation and argument development. Serve as a liaison between attorneys, clients, and third parties, managing communication, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings and court appearances. Provide responsive assistance to clients with inquiries and status updates. Maintain strict confidentiality of client information and ensure compliance with legal and procedural requirements. Prepare expense reports, time entries, and billing statements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or Legal Studies
- Proven experience in a legal environment, law firm, or corporate legal department
- Proficiency in legal research methods, citation formats, and online research tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with attorneys, clients, and colleagues
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and legal software applications
- Knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and litigation processes
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a legal team, demonstrating professionalism, discretion, and integrity
- Must be authorized to work in the country where the job is based
- Must be willing to submit up to a LEVEL II background and/or security investigation with a fingerprint
- Must be willing to submit to drug screening
