Paralegal and Compliance Administrator

Job Summary

Conduct legal research on federal, state, and local laws, primarily in nonprofit, tax-exempt, health, and corporate law. Draft, review, and revise contracts, legal memoranda, and communications while maintaining a file of contracts and renewal alerts. Act as the corporate custodian of records by creating searchable databases of formation documents and minutes, administering the Conflict of Interest policy, and scheduling board meetings. Provide tax compliance support for donations, audits, and Form 990 disclosures, and assist with HIPAA compliance reviews. Manage multiple challenging areas of responsibility simultaneously with minimal oversight, ensuring adherence to organizational strategy and state/federal guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of seven years of paralegal experience with complex corporate and tax structures
  • Minimum of seven years of experience with all activities associated with contract administration
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate, tax, and nonprofit law, and complex corporate structures
  • Demonstrated high-level analytical skills
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects to completion

  • Superior verbal, interpersonal, written, and listening communication skills, with proven ability to communicate information diplomatically, concisely, and professionally with internal and external audiences
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative on projects
