Job Summary

Advise on contentious and non-contentious HR/employee relations issues, draft and review contracts of employment, HR policies, and settlement agreements, and assist in all phases of employment and benefits litigation. Conduct legal research, liaise with external legal advisers when required, and support transformation, integration, and change processes including outsourcing, insourcing, mergers, and acquisitions. Manage an independent caseload with structured supervision and mentoring while preparing fiduciary materials for the Benefits Committee. Report to the EMEA/APAC employment lawyer based in London to provide legal and practical advice to HR and senior stakeholders across the UK and global locations.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience in employment law in the UK either in a private practice law firm or in house at a multi-national corporation
  • Strong drafting and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effectively manages concurrent projects or tasks with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Commercially aware, practically minded and solutions-focused
  • Comfortable working autonomously when needed
  • Curious and keen to learn
  • Law degree/LPC
  • Experience working in financial services
  • Knowledge of senior managers and certification regime (or other financial services licensing regimes outside of the UK)
  • Experience working on employment law matters outside of the UK
  • Knowledge of regulatory compensation rules in Europe
  • Experience of employee benefits matters/commercial contract negotiation
  • In-Office Collaboration
  • Our employees work in the office at least four (4) days per week, with flexibility to work from home one (1) day per week
