Job Summary
Paraeducator supervises students in non-classroom settings such as lunchrooms, hallways, and playgrounds; ensures safety and well-being, enforces rules, may assist with lunch setup and cleanup, monitors play areas and restrooms, observes for first aid needs, communicates with teachers/administrators about student behavior, supports inclusion of students with special needs, and may participate in intramural activities or supervise group activities.
Required Qualifications
- Education and Experience: Education, training, skills, and experience necessary to carry out the assignment, experience working with school-aged children preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Requires fingerprinting and background check to determine that there have been no convictions involving physical molestation, abuse, injury or neglect of a minor.
- Must complete training in and adhere to district infection control plan.
