Job Summary
Assist students in specialized programs by providing individualized instruction and academic support in a general education setting; monitor and enforce social/behavior norms, support daily routines including health and hygiene tasks, and assist with IEP-implemented accommodations and modifications. Duties include tutoring, adapting work, data collection, assisting with assessments, supporting programming, and helping students with daily routines (toileting, diapering, feeding and medical needs such as trach and feeding tubes). Utilize CPI/Safety Care techniques and maintain a sanitized learning environment; support speech and language development using alternative communication methods (sign language, AAC). Requires High school diploma or equivalent and completion of required trainings (CPR/First Aid, Universal Precautions, CPI/Safety Care) within specified timelines; background check completed prior to hire. This is a permanent/regular, part-time role at Adams 12 Five Star Schools located in Thornton, CO with 34 hours/week and an hourly pay range of $20.27–$24.99; benefits package available. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Criminal background check required for hire
- Ability to successfully complete a pre-hire, post-offer physical examination
- CPR and First Aid certifications required within 3 months after entering position
- Universal Precautions training required within 3 months after entering position
- CPI/Safety Care training certification required within 3 months after entering position
- Willingness to work with students with significant needs (training opportunities provided)
