Job Summary
Provide individualized support to students with social communication disabilities, reinforcing academic and social-emotional skills while assisting in personal care needs like toileting, feeding, and administering emergency medication. Implement behavior plans to modify interfering behaviors and strictly adhere to Individualized Education Program guidelines for safety and well-being. Supervise students during activities, drills, and field trips while maintaining a positive, orderly learning environment and reporting any concerns immediately. Work under the supervision of a special education teacher to assist with assessments and data collection, ensuring all duties are performed safely and prudently as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CPR/First Aid (certification provided)
- Ability to operate standard office equipment, including a computer and related software
- Satisfactory criminal background check
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, stand, walk, and sit
- Repetitive finger and manual dexterity
- Ability to speak, hear, and see (with correction) to perform essential job functions
- Occasionally: Lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Frequently: Lift or move objects weighing up to 20 pounds
- Constantly: Lift or move objects weighing up to 10 pounds
- Adhere to the dress code appropriate to the site and job
