Job Summary
Provide instructional support under the supervision of a special education teacher for students with high-incidence disabilities, including specific learning and speech-language needs. Reinforce material and skills with individual students or small groups while assisting with social-emotional development and behavioral plans. Actively supervise students during all activities, including emergency drills, assemblies, field trips, and lunch, and report any concerns to the teacher. Assist with toileting and personal hygiene as directed, help maintain a quiet classroom environment, and perform other duties as assigned to support overall objectives.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- CPR/First Aid (certification provided)
- Ability to operate standard office equipment, including a computer and related software
- Satisfactory criminal background check
- Ability to exert 10-30 lbs. of force, to lift, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
- Manual dexterity to operate business-related equipment
- Vision and hearing are adequate to exercise job responsibilities in a safe manner
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, stand, walk, and sit
- Requires the ability to speak, hear, and see (with correction) to perform essential job functions
- Occasionally: Lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Frequently: Lift or move objects weighing up to 20 pounds
- Constantly: Lift or move objects weighing up to 10 pounds
