Job Summary
Para-Educator, Special Education at Franklin Elementary provides instructional support to students with disabilities under the direction of a certificated teacher, assisting with IEP goals, attendance to basic health needs, and a broad range of clerical and classroom-management duties. Duties include supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing and visually impaired students with specialized instruction (e.g., ASL, PSE, Braille), assisting with move/transfer of students and medical equipment, administering basic health procedures as trained, facilitating small-group instruction, data collection on student progress, preparing instructional materials, and collaborating with teachers, parents, and staff to maintain a safe, engaging classroom environment.
