Job Summary
Provides specialized instructional support to individuals and groups of Special Education or Severely Handicapped students; integrates para-professional health care services and behavior interventions with instructional support; requires completion of high school diploma or equivalent with 48 college credits (degree eligible) and one year of relevant classroom experience; CPR/First-Aid certification required; may require a valid driver’s license. 6 hours per day, 5 days a week, at Orchard Elementary under TRUSD; salary in 9 annual steps and benefit offerings are described.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 48 college credits (degree-eligible)
- One year of experience in a classroom environment with students with special needs
- CPR certificate and First-Aid certification
- Possession of valid driver’s license (may be required)
- NCLB Compliance (38 college credits or pass Paraeducator Proficiency Exam)
- Proof of HS Graduation (diploma or transcripts)
- Resume demonstrating required experience
