Educational Support Professional: Paraeducator I provides instructional and behavioral support to students under the direction of a certified teacher, working with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and develop academic, communication, and functional skills. Implements accommodations, modifications, and instructional strategies aligned with IEPs; monitors and reports student progress and behavior including Medicaid documentation as applicable. Supports classroom operations, assists with assessments and attendance, and completes clerical tasks related to student services. Promotes a positive, structured learning environment, supports transitions and independence, and collaborates with teachers and multidisciplinary teams across settings. Requires knowledge of IEPs, autism spectrum disorders, behavior intervention strategies, data collection, progress monitoring, and compliance; strong collaboration, adaptability, and attention to detail expected. The role may involve supervising students in multiple settings and performing data entry and other clerical duties as assigned.
