Job Summary
Paraeducator B Life Skills serves students with significant cognitive and adaptive delays under the supervision of the Building Administrator and Special Education Teacher. Responsibilities include providing direct academic support, assistance with small groups or one-on-one instruction, implementing accommodations and strategies from IEPs, behavior management, and fostering student independence. Collaboration with other staff is required to adapt and reassign support to maximize student success; refer to attached job description for specific duties.
Required Qualifications
- Be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent, and meet one (1) of the following: Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university; or Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university; or Passed one of the following Professional Educator Standards Board approved assessments: ETS ParaPro Assessment Score of 455 or higher; Para Pathways Score of 324 in Reading and Writing and a Score of 325 in Mathematics; Pearson Paraprofessional Assessment Score of 220 or higher; Master Teacher Inc. Paraeducator Training Program Score of 65% or higher; Upon hire, must complete the Fundamental Course of Study (FCS)-Paraeducator Certificate.
