Job Summary
Assist in the supervision, care, and instruction of students with special needs within assigned classrooms. Implement behavioral management programs for students of varying ages and sizes while monitoring student behavior. Provide support to the instructional program by assisting in implementing instruction plans and offering information to appropriate school personnel. Requires good physical health for lifting and effective interpersonal communication skills. Reports to the Principal and Assigned Teachers for an 187-day employment term.
Required Qualifications
- associate's degree
- completed a minimum of 48 hours of study at a regionally accredited institution of higher education
- successfully completed the Alabama State Board of Education approved WORKKEYS test
- Good physical and emotional health
- ability to lift
- ability to implement behavioral management program with students of varying ages and sizes
- Effective interpersonal communication skills
