Job Summary
Support the instructional program within assigned classrooms by supervising, caring for, and instructing students with special needs while assisting in implementing instruction plans and monitoring student behavior. Provide information to appropriate school personnel and execute behavioral management programs for students of varying ages and sizes. Requires good physical health, effective interpersonal communication, and either an associate's degree, 48 hours of accredited study, or a completed WORKKEYS test. Employment spans 187 days under the supervision of the Principal and Assigned Teachers.
Required Qualifications
- associate's degree
- completed a minimum of 48 hours of study at a regionally accredited institution of higher education
- successfully completed the Alabama State Board of Education approved WORKKEYS test
- Good physical and emotional health
- ability to lift
- ability to implement behavioral management program with students of varying ages and sizes
- Effective interpersonal communication skills
