Job Summary
Support students in developing academic skills, social-emotional regulation, and motor abilities while implementing IEP accommodations, modifications, and behavior support plans. Provide individualized or small group instruction, clarify directions, and assist with activities of daily living including hygiene, dressing, and toileting. Proctor assessments, monitor progress toward key checkpoints, and supervise students during transitions, field trips, and throughout the school day. Collect and report student data, maintain classroom routines, and foster collaborative relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written form
- Ability to learn and use assistive technology
- Must be able to move, transport and position students (as needed)
- Must possess strength to lift/carry materials up to 20 pounds
- Must possess strength to lift and/or reposition persons up to 50 pounds with assistance
- Must be able to respond quickly in emergency situations
- Successful completion of a background check and CORI
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree
- Experience working with children in an educational setting
- Familiarity with Special Education/IEPs

- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
- Ability to foster collaborative and effective working relationships
