Job Summary
Provide instructional assistance to students under the direct supervision of a certified teacher, including preparing and conducting classroom activities. Assist with administering and scoring objective testing instruments, maintaining instructional materials, and keeping administrative records. Manage student supervision throughout the school day, covering classes for teacher absences and assisting substitute teachers. Handle lunchroom, bus, and playground duties while making teachers aware of individual student needs. Participate in staff development and faculty meetings, following district safety protocols and emergency procedures. Requires a high school diploma or GED, with ability to instruct reading, writing, and mathematics.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or hold a General Educational Development (GED) certificate
- Have met formal academic assessment, associate's degree, or two years of study at an institution of higher learning*
- Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
- Ability to work well with children
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Some experience working with children
