Job Summary
Provide supervision for children in the building and outdoor environments and assist certified staff with daily classroom activities. Support individual students or small groups to reinforce learning, help implement teacher-planned strategies, relay important information to substitute teachers, and maintain professional ethics and confidentiality. Communicate effectively with staff and caregivers, operate classroom equipment, and assist with duties during emergency drills, field trips, and other activities. Maintain high standards of behavior and support for students, with responsibilities including supervision on playgrounds, bus lines, and lunchrooms, and adapting to both indoor and outdoor settings. Ensure compliance with Highly Qualified requirements for Title 1 school and contribute to a positive learning environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or AA degree preferred
- Successful completion of State Para Professional Assessment Test
- Complete an Associate Degree or higher, or complete two years of college with a minimum of 32 credits
- Previous experience working with children preferred
