Job Summary
Accommodate Individual Educational Program (IEP) students for class participation and instruct them in group and individual settings to meet IEP goals. Assist students with aggressive and challenging behaviors while monitoring their progress in the classroom, resource room, or self-contained classroom. Implement behavioral and educational plans designed by the IEP team and maintain data providing accurate information regarding student progress. Provide certified staff with data and support regarding students' IEP development. Support students in addressing personal care and restroom needs and assist with clerical tasks. Attend in-service training, unit meetings, and workshops annually. Monitor students to provide a positive and safe environment conducive to learning.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 48 college hours or completion of Title I Assessments
- Background Clearance
- TB Test/Physical
- 20-hour in-service training
- Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
- High degree of confidentiality, motivation, and responsibility
- Highly collaborative team player
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, etc.)
- Lifting to 35 pounds independently
- Lifting 35 or more pounds with team or equipment assistance
